The Story of 23
Probably Part 1
This is a picture of me before my life began in three parts. I was almost 23 years old, my first born probably already conceived, arriving the following January.
We were The Older Ones (3). We were in charge of the The Younger Ones (8), while living under one roof with one bathroom. When this picture was taken, my two sisters were married, and I was ending a year or so of the single partying stage. We lived away from home and thoroughly enjoyed having our own bathroom.
I don’t have many pics back in the days before cell phones, just a few snapshots like the one above. Those years are mostly attached to my flakey memory bank, like barnacles.
Those years are referred to as, “Pre-Jowl Era” followed by, “Abundant Eyelash Era”.
If you’re wondering what the current era is, and yes, there is one, it is,“Resting Muppet Face Era”.
If you’re also wondering why they’re all defined by the physical and not something more important, more worthy — I try to keep things light around here, which is another way of saying deep avoidance.
